Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord! —Ps. 144:15 (ESV)
So good to be home! My daughters and I have been in the U.S. for many months now as they are starting college. The last several months have been good and successful but coming home is so great. My daughters who have grown up in Honduras were counting the days since we left in August before they could return.
It’s amazing what four months can do to a growing kid! Many of them have grown at least two inches since I saw them last. They all look so healthy!
I am so thankful for all of the hard work that our house mommies do and our ministry staff and volunteers do. It’s not just because they are my kids that I say this, but we really do have 105 very fine children! They are happy, they are healthy, and for the most part, are well behaved.
Are there many things that need improvement? Of course, but the reality is, God is doing a great thing in each of them. You see that when you step away for a little while. I cannot thank you all enough. This is not the job of one person, where someone in the end can stand up and say “Look at me, look what I did”. The reality is, when you look at WWH2H, you are looking at the effort of many, combined to make one big beautiful thing!
That’s the Board of Directors here in Honduras and in the U.S. That’s all the employees, staff, and volunteers that are on the front line with the kids each day. And that is each of you—the sponsors, supporters, prayer partners, and volunteers in the U.S. You are all literally changing the world one child at a time!
Best Christmas present ever, we have been blessed with a new school bus
One of the main objectives when our family travels to the U.S. each fall, is to touch base with all of the churches, business and individuals that love and support this ministry. While speaking at a church recently we were blessed in a huge way. An individual that in his own words has been very blessed this past year gave us one of the best Christmas gifts ever,—a new bus!
In addition, the agency that sold us the bus dropped the price by nearly half. A longtime friend of the ministry has offered to service the bus and then pay for the cost of shipping and also purchasing some things that the ministry desperately needs to come down on the bus. What an amazing blessing! What wonderful people! You are all treasures to us and our kids’ lives will be dramatically improved by these donations. I pray that God bless you all one hundred fold! We have posted a list of needs. If you can help in any way with filling the bus, please contact our ministry office right away. Please share the list with your churches, schools, places of work, etc., so that we can get this list completely met!
