Eight women from Oregon, Washington, and Alaska arrived in Honduras on January 16. This time of the year is the rainy season in Honduras. The tropical rain that falls is intense, drenching the land; the rain from Heaven was intense, drenching the hearts and spirits of the women of Honduras. Healing, Freedom, Forgiveness, Holy Spirit, Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and so much more flowed from Heaven to these women.
Friday and Saturday God showed up in a powerful way. The women came with expectant hearts and hungry for more of God. After the services, one of the women shared, “it was incredible what God did!” 40 women had individual times for Emmanuel/Sozo sessions. Each one of the women felt closer to God, more freedom, and healing in their hearts. You could see a noticeable difference on their faces and in their posture after the sessions.
We knew that God had some surprises for us on this trip. The biggest surprise happened on our last day. Kim knew that we needed to meet with the mayor of Omoa. Friday morning, we stopped by his office to deliver some gifts. The area in front of his office was packed with over 250 people. He invited our team to sit at the table of honor and we presented the gifts as part of the celebration for National Honduran Women’s Day. The meeting with the mayor was so much bigger than we had anticipated.
We know that this trip was for the women in Honduras, and yet, those of us on the team were changed, as well. One of the team members shared that she would continue to grow until the day she died. God healed team members physically. He opened our eyes to some of the greater things that He has for us. Several on the team encountered God in ways that they did not realize were possible. This Ladies’ Encounter changed many lives as the team and the women in Honduras encountered God.
