Thank you Jesus for Hearing Our Prayers!
For years, I have been praying specifically for God to send us help for our Special Education kids, Speech Therapy for our children with this need and a trained professional for counseling. This month saw two new services made available to our H2H kids! There is a brand new Special Education School for kids with learning disabilities just a few blocks from our school. Four of our children just enrolled and we are thrilled! In addition, we found a speech therapy program in downtown Puerto Cortes for several of our children who need this help. We are blessed!
And if that were not enough, we have an amazing Honduran lady, Miss Luisa, who came to volunteer last year and decided to stay and teach. Luisa holds a Master’s Degree in counseling and I KNOW she was God-sent! She is so wonderful with the kids and the staff. Even more, she is also our librarian. Guess where the kids gravitate during their breaks and lunch? The Library! So, in addition to helping our children with learning disabilities and speech, our kids (and staff) receive amazing counseling!
Dear Heavenly Father—
In addition to our teen boys new housing, we are hoping to build a new primary school on that same 3 acre property we purchased near the school. Our current school will then be a secondary school. Phase one will be the first floor, allowing for Kinder, Prepa, 1st and 2nd grades. Phase two will be a second story that will house grades 3, 4, 5. Each phase is estimated to cost $150,000 to build and furnish. Please pray that God will release His funds for this to get started.
Please pray for some school needs to be met. Our H2H Church building is also our school gym, our auditorium, and our chapel. As such, it gets lots of use 7 days a week. It was built to be a church, so the windows, lights, wall fans, and the altar with our instruments, are unprotected when it comes to daily PE activities. Due to this, we have to replace windows, fans and lights too often. We hope to redo the inside of the church to make it more school friendly. That means, at a minimum, new windows and lights with protective covers, and a folding door across the altar to protect our instruments. Ultimately, we need to install a ceiling and air-conditioning as well.
Every time I go to Puerto Cortes or to San Pedro Sula, I see too many little children begging on the streets. Please pray for God to send His resources – people and funds. To reap the fields, ripe for harvest. It is my prayer for each of you that this month you get to know Him more, you get to serve Him more, you get to love more souls to Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
