“No more homework, no more books, no more teachers’ “patient” looks!!”
Another amazing school year has come to a close. It was one filled with learning, growing in Jesus, forever friendships, and memories to last a lifetime! And that was just for the staff! Kidding…we all, 255 kids and 35 staff, will look back at this year with smiles and happiness.
To end the year with a bang, we held our 2nd Annual Olympics Obstacle Course! All week I could hear the laughter and cheers floating up to my office from the PE classes, as they ran the course to determine the Friday finalists for each of the 3 floors of our school.
We are already preparing for the August 10th opening of the 2015-16 school year. We are short 2 staff: a Kindergarten teacher and a Music Ed. Teacher. If any of you know of someone with these gifts who may be interested in volunteering for us next year, please have them contact me right away!! (email@example.com) In addition, we need US volunteer classroom aides to help in all classes.
2nd Annual Spring Arts and Music Festival
This most fun day of performance for our families was held May 8th to a packed house. Each class presented songs, dances, dramas and poetry along with the traditional Folkloric Dance performed by some of our staff and students. Of course the Kinders stole the show dressed as sheep as they told the story of how Jesus left the 99 to rescue the one lost sheep. At the end of the show, we honored our Mothers with dessert and tons of love.
Tio, Mommie, Sarah and Rachel are Home!!!
After almost 7 months in the US spent fundraising for H2H, Oscar, Amy, Sarah and Rachel have returned home to Honduras. We are so happy to have them back! Many of you were blessed to have them visit your homes and churches. Thank you for your hospitality to this family of ours who sit in the center of our hearts in this ministry.
Saturday Servant: Our teens helping people in Honduras
With the return of Amy and Oscar to Honduras, a new program of serving others has begun. Along with our church, each Saturday our teen boys and girls find a way to serve others. One Saturday it was cleaning the house of a woman who needed help. Another Saturday it was cleaning the house, yard and furniture of a shut-in older couple. It is our heart to teach our children to be servants to others, never expecting anything in return except the smile of our Father.
New Kids: Jamie (5) & Manuel (3)
This month God blessed us with two more children to add to our growing family, now numbering 102. Manuel is a darling 3 year old with sparkling eyes and an independent spirit. His sister Jamie looks and behaves older that her 5 years. She is beautiful. Both need sponsors. They have been rescued and now begins the raising and restoring of their lives. Please pray about helping us with that by becoming a sponsor for one or both of them.
Mommie Moments: Mother’s Day for our Mommies
Our amazing volunteers cared for the children so we could treat our Village Mommies to lunch in town and gifts. They each give so much to our children 24/7. We are blessed to have this staff of women who love our children as their own. Please keep H2H in your prayers and thoughts as we head into the summer months. We have an amazing Summer Camp Program planned for our kids to enjoy. God bless you and thank you!
With love, Mary Frenter
