School Honor Roll
Third quarter grades came out and our children did us proud! They are all doing better and better each time. The majority of them made the Honor Roll!!
Our very first school Prom was held in April at La Casona Del Mar on the beach. The theme was Masquerade. We all wore beautiful masks sold by the student body. Our former PE teacher, Jaffeth, was the DJ for the all Christian music event. The evening featured line & swing dancing, karaoke and numerous door prizes. Fun was had by all!
Maria Elena Rivas is one of the mommies in our babies’ house for children birth to 4 years old. She is a beautiful example of the love of Jesus as she ministers gently, but firmly to our youngest. In November, when Josue David had to have lip surgery, she came with him to care for him and comfort him. She stayed with us in town to tend to his every need. When Carlito broke his arm in April, she came with him and again took gentle care of him through the casting process of this VERY bad break. Wherever she is, at the village or at our home in Puerto Cortes, she steps in to help with the chores and cooking. Our girls LOVE having her here, as she was one of their mommies at the village before they moved to Puerto Cortes with us. We are so blessed to have this amazing woman to care for our children at the Village.
Mission Memories—Kids Helping Kids
From H2H Volunteer Colby Berscheid-Travis Plunkett, a teenage boy who attends our church in Spirit Lake, WA, heard us speak about Honduras and decided to raise money at his school all by himself for the H2H Children’s Village where Hannah and I are serving this year. His efforts blessed H2H with $500!!! Here is his Facebook message to his classmates: “Hey everyone, it’s Travis. Here is the information on the movie night. We will be watching Big Hero 6. I have heard lots of good things about this PG rated movie. The admission fee is $3.00. We will sell popcorn, licorice, water, and candy. It will be in the gym at Timberlake Jr High, this Friday. It will start at 3 o’clock, and end around 5. We will be raising money for Worldwide Heart to Heart Children’s Village in Honduras. We will appreciate any donations. Please spread the word! Thank you, and God bless you! -Travis Plunkett
Long-term H2H volunteers Jordan Rinta and Abby Doubrava recently announced their engagement to the delight of all of our H2H family everywhere. Jordan is from Washington and Abby is from Oklahoma. They met here in Honduras while working for H2H as teachers and missionaries. They will be married June 8th in Honduras with all of our 98 children, family and friends in attendance. We wish them every happiness and God’s blessing!
With love, Mary Frenter
