Each year the Senior Class does a 6 month illiteracy program for the community. The purpose is to find adults in the community who do not know how to read and teach them. Their graduation luncheon was held Saturday, April 22nd. The Senior Class Parents prepared the lunch. The seniors each presented their student with a certificate of graduation from the program. The participants who attended had their families with them to witness the event. We are very proud of our Senior Class for doing this service for so many.
Good bye Mr. Markus
Today, April 26th, we said goodbye to Markus Fridlund, our volunteer from Sweden who has been with us since February. He has helped our kids in so many ways. Besides teaching some of the science classes, he was Miss Carrie’s right hand man in 1st grade. He will be so missed and we wish him God’s blessing now and always as he returns to Sweden to complete his degree as a medical doctor. Thank you, Mr. Markus, and come back soon!!!
