Continuing this month, we are giving you some insights about some of our children so you can learn more about them, highlight their accomplishments and successes as the Lord moves them along the path of their lives.
Alexis is 15 and in the 8th grade. Alexis has big ambitions and dreams. If one would have talked to Alexis last year at this time he would have listed 5 possible professions, but he has narrowed it down to two possible options: a pilot or a professional soccer player. He thinks he would enjoy being a pilot because he likes math and wants to travel. Being a soccer player is also interesting because it would be fun and he would travel. Travel is absolutely something Alexis would like to do, but there is not one specific place; he would like to travel the world. The greatest gift he has been given from the ministry is his education. Alexis works very hard in school and is very smart. He is also very proud of the soccer player that he has become. When asked if there is something that people should know about him, he first replied, “Nothing,” while laughing at himself. He then said he wanted people to know that he lives at the Village, but in the end he simply wanted everyone to know that “I’m doing great.”
“Cristian, how old are you, buddy?”
“30… No, wait 13.”
Glad we got that one figured out. Cristian Turcios is in 3rd grade and his favorite subjects in school are Math, English, and Spelling. At home, he likes playing soccer and football. He loves his 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He really enjoys them. The best gift that he has gotten from the ministry is his life. He must remember where he came from and where he has come now. He is absolutely a special miracle to our ministry family. If there is one thing that he wants people to know about him it is that he behaves well. His teacher would agree with that statement as well!
For someone who is having a bad day, seeing a smile on Jehovany’s face would make any bad day far better. Jehovany just turned 17 and is in 8th grade. He likes school because he has the opportunity to learn English, and he thinks that will benefit him. Some of Jehovany’s favorite pastimes are playing soccer and reading his Bible. He also thinks that it is pretty cool that he gets to live with some of his best friends. When he was asked what the best gift he has received from the ministry he replied, “Wow!” and after thinking about it for a minute he continued, “to learn about Jesus Christ.” He is extremely grateful and humble. To everyone he would like to say, “Thank you for giving me an opportunity to study at the school, to live at the Village and for giving me all I need, and for taking care of me.” May the Lord continue to bless, keep, and shine upon his precious son, Jehovany.
